Swizz Beatz Megaupload File Sharing Website Shut Down
Remember when we posted that video of Kanye West, P. Diddy, Will.I.Am and others supporting file-sharing website Megaupload? Well, turns out Yesterday many noticed that Swizz Beatz was actually the CEO of Megaupload. Swizz Beatz was also known to work with many artists featured in the AD. Yeah, it’s surprising he was the company’s CEO but that’s not what this post is about…
Today Megaupload was taken off the internet after a two year investigation by the FBI. The company was deemed “a worldwide criminal organization whose members engaged in criminal copyright infringement and money laundering on a massive scale.”
7 workers for Megaupload were charged with piracy crimes and 4 of them were arrested in New Zeland.
Was Swizz Beatz one of the Megaupload team members arrested? Nobody knows, yet. But it has been confirmed that Kim Dotcom, born Kim Schmitz, the website’s founder has been arrested.

UPDATE: Swizz Beatz was NOT arrested. I believe taking down Megaupload wasn’t right. It’s a file uploading website. If somebody has a problem with something hosted, they could contact the site and they would take the content down. The owners of Megaupload didn’t upload the content themselves. They shouldn’t be held liable. But I guess it’s too late now. But, the indictment for this incident has surfaced. You can check it out after the jump.
