50 Cent was recently accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and trashing her home in Los Angeles, California. Now 50 is facing domestic violence charges which would leave him behind bars for 5 years if found guilty.
Today 50 Cent pleaded not guilty to attacking his ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy at her California home in June. In the court room a judge ordered 50 to stay 100 yards away from Daphne, and to get rid of all of his firearms by turning them in to law enforcement or selling them to licensed gun dealers. 50 is due back in court on September 4th.
Daphne Joy and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson have a 10 month old named Sire Jackson.
“She’s going to cooperate with (prosecutors) in the sense of giving them what they need from her, like any other victim would. If this ends in trial, I assume she would testify,” Joy’s lawyer Stephen Sitkoff told the Daily News. “She’d like to get this resolved and put it behind her. She has no interest in bringing attention to herself. She just wants to live her life.”
But her legal team used the hearing to try to serve the “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” rapper with the new custody paperwork after the criminal proceedings.
“She’s worried he’s going to take the baby out of California,” a source told The News. “She’s seeking a court order so he can’t do that.”
50 Cent only smiled when loudly confronted with the court filing as he was escorted out of the building by sheriff’s deputies. He quickly hopped in the back of his silver SUV without touching the documents, and his driver brushed them away with the vehicle’s windshield wipers.
According to prosecutors, Jackson went berserk in Joy’s Toluca Lake condo June 23, destroying more than $7,000 worth of property.
Joy allegedly locked herself in a bedroom to escape the meltdown, and that’s when Jackson busted down the door and kicked her, causing injury, prosecutors contend.
Police rushed to the scene and reportedly observed smashed chandeliers, a broken TV, a ransacked bedroom closet and Joy’s clothes all over the floor.
Jackson, 37, was charged with domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.
If 50 Cent is convicted of all counts, the New York emcee could face 5 years behind bars, and nearly $50,000 in fines.
