Tekashi69 Arrested In New York City During “Billy” Music Video Shoot

6IX9INE (Daniel Hernandez) was arrested today in New York City during the filming of his new music video for “Billy.” Much like every other one of Tekashi69’s guerrilla-style videos, he brought out a large crowd. It’s currently uncertain why 6IX9INE was arrested, but he was placed in cuffs and thrown in the back of an unmarked cop car.

DJ Akademiks was on set and shared a video of 6IX9INE’s arrest. 6IX9INE has been on tour and celebrating the release of his short but stellar new mixtape, DAY69. The project holds 11 songs with features from Offset, Young Thug, Fetty Wap, Tory Lanez, and more.

Before the music video shoot, 6IX9INE posted the filming location on Instagram. “I’m on my way. Running late. Police say leave, don’t leave. We run this city,” Tekashi69 wrote. he could have been arrested for inciting a riot or endangering others.

6IX9INE is a regular when it comes to drama and altercations. He is known for trolling gang members on Social Media and recently got into a brawl at LAX. The worst look on his record is allegations of child misconduct. We’ll keep you updated if any more details surface on 6IX9INE’s arrest.

UPDATE: According to TMZ, NYPD arrested 6IX9INE because he didn’t have a valid permit for the Billy music video’s production. NYPD was on location because of the large crowd and 6IX9INE’s Instagram posts, as expected. Cops told 6IX9INE the situation was dangerous because of online threats on his life.
