Last weekend at Summer Camp Fest in Chillicoth, IL,  Big Boi severely injured his knee while performing the hit Outkast record “Bombs Over Baghdad.” He was in visible pain but managed to tough it out for the crowd, limping off stage when the song came to an end.

Big Boi shared a picture on Instagram of himself in crutches on May 27th with the caption, “Injured my leg on stage yesterday , headed to the A for some test#TooTurntUp #Turndownforwhat#weoutchea.”

Evidently surgery was required to repair his lower body injury. “Shout out to the good folks at Game Ready and my Orthopedic surgeon 6 weeks then we back outchea#shoesforrunning,” was the caption of a photo of his knee in a protective sleeve the next day.

TMZ, who obtained footage of the incident reports:

After the show, the 38-year-old rapper said doctors diagnosed him with a “torn patella” ( … since the patella is a bone, we’re guessing he meant “patellar tendon”).

Either way … Big Boi has since undergone surgery to fix his busted joint, which forced him to postpone several tour dates … but the rapper insists he’ll be back on stage in 6 weeks.

The Shoes For Running Tour‘s remaining shows with Killer Mike will be rescheduled for the fall.

I personally have had 3 left knee injuries and can say that it is a very painful part of your body to hurt. RapDose wishes Sir Luscious Left Foot (hehe) a speedy recovery!
