Ohio based R&B group The O’Jays have filed a lawsuit against Crown Royal over the use of their hit song “For the Love of Money” in the liquor company’s recent commercial.

The group claims they were humiliated by the advertisement which features Big K.R.I.T. rapping over the song, calling the southern producer/rapper a “poser with limited ability to carry a tune” who performed a “self-aggrandizing childish rap.” They are seeking more than a million dollars in damages.

Clearly, they weren’t joking about their love of the money. Those are some pretty bold statements about a well respected artist in the industry.
