Donald Glover to play a young Lando in an upcoming Star Wars film

If you’re a fan of Donald Glover or Star Wars this news should be huge for your inner-nerd. The film will be releasing sometime in 2018 and will be about a young Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, before they meet Luke, Leia, & Vader. Hopefully this film will explore the bounty hunter side of things and the relationship the characters have with Jabba The Hutt.

Lucas Films announced today, Oct. 21st, that Donald would be playing the roll of Lando. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller said, “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald joining us..”

The hype for the currently untitled film is unbelievably real, and we can’t wait to see it.

Donald’s acting career this far

Outside of the rap scene Donald is well known for his time on the screens of many people’s TV’s. He helped write for the NBS series 30 Rock, then played Troy Barnes on another NBC show, Community. He now has his very popular show Atlanta airing every Tuesday on FX, which he created. He’s also a comedian most known for his standup bit Weirdo. With the success of Atlanta and the success the Star Wars franchise has seen, I’m sure we’ll see Donald take on more big rolls like this in the future. Don’t forget he’s already set to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.
