Jay Electronica‘s long await Act II project still doesn’t have a release date, after being teased for several years. We’ve even at one point seen an official tracklist released by Jay Electronica hit the net, but we’ve never actually got to hear the songs teased. Things look to finally be moving for Jay Electronica, and while on the red carpet at the BET Hip Hop Awards, Jay Electronica spoke out on album delays, which he says in some part is due to drug abuse. Watch below.

Jay Electronica performed at the BET Hip Hop Awards this past weekend with Common and Vince Staples. During the performance, the parents of slain Ferguson teen Mike Brown appeared on stage. Mike Brown was murdered by Darren Wilson, a Ferguson police officer. He still remain free…for whatever reason.

The BET Hip Hop Awards air October 14.
