While flipping channels the other night, I stumbled upon the trailer for Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynold’s new film Safe House. The trailer for this film features Jay-Z, Kanye West and Frank Ocean’s track “No Church In The Wild.”
Upon first seeing this trailer, I believed the movie looked great and thought to myself that it’s awesome that they used Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Frank Ocean featured Watch The Throne track “No Church In The Wild” in it’s trailer which you can view above.
The artists are of course receiving revenue from their music featured in the trailer, but could Kanye also be getting paid for something else in it?
After watching the trailer again, I couldn’t help but notice the use of the font “Impact” throughout the trailer and Kanye West’s signature red G.O.O.D. Friday style text featured at the end. Which led me to think…could Kanye’s DONDA design company have had something to do with this trailer? Probably not. Impact is a really common font, but for some reason I still feel this trailer was influenced by the super basic G.O.O.D. Friday single covers that Kanye West was popular for some time ago. But hey, maybe I’m reaching. And If I’m reaching, you can still enjoy the trailer for Safe House and the music by Jay-Z, Kanye West and Frank Ocean.
Purchase Watch The Throne on iTunes.
Am I reaching?
