Kanye West Wants $3 Million From Tidal And He Wants It Now
Kanye West is upset with Jay-Z’s company Tidal after they failed on a promise of $3 Million. Lawyers are getting their hands dirty in paperwork and letters have been exchanged between Kanye West and Tidal. Tidal is looking to sue Kanye West too. They claim he failed to produce music videos for songs from The Life of Pablo.
According to TMZ, Kanye West’s lawyer sent Jay-Z’s Tidal a letter last month demanding $3 Million that was promised to fund music videos. Kanye claims Tidal is in breach of contract. Both parties failed to come to an agreement within 2 weeks time. A final letter from Kanye’s side stated that his contract with Tidal is cancelled.
The news comes just after Jay-Z had words for Kanye West on the 4:44 album cut “Kill Jay-Z.”
“I know people backstab you, I feel bad too, but this ‘fuck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural/ But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe/ But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye/ You gave him 20 million without blinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck was he thinkin’?/ ‘Fuck is wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’/ But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”
Tidal was to reimburse Kanye West $3 Million for music videos. Kanye West didn’t deliver the music videos and stated that he’ll deliver when he gets He money. Kanye demanded a bonus from Tidal after The Life of Pablo gained the streaming service 1.5 million new subscribers. He didn’t get the bonus.
The only song from Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo to get a Tidal debut is “Famous.” The Famous music video was more of an art project from Kanye and featured a bunch of nude celebrities in bed. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Donald Trump, Chris Brown, Amber Rose, Taylor Swift, Bill Cosby, Kim Kardashian, and even himself. “Fade” debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards. “Wolves” made it’s debut in conjunction with Balmain.
The Tidal / Kanye West deal included exclusive rights to stream Ye’s new music. Tidal’s letter said that if Kanye West releases music on any other streaming service, he will be sued. That’s why Kanye is ready to counter-sue Tidal.
Hear that sound? That’s a legal beef boiling and Kanye West and Jay-Z’s relationship coming to an end. A single tear just rolled down my cheek.
