Looks like Kanye West might have something else up his sleeve other than the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album and his own solo project. The Hollywood Reporter says Kanye has been scouting out Middle Eastern locations (Abu Dhabi and Doha) for a short film a la Runaway. The project will begin shooting in March and Yeezy has already sent members of his team to check out the locations to find places to shoot the film and people to help invest/fund the film project.
“They (Kanye’s team) did a full round of meetings, speaking with various government agencies, institutions and private investors,” an insider told THR. “They toured each area and met with all the major players.”
The short film is apparently set in the Gulf, will be around 30 minutes long, set to music (possibly from his next album) and will focus on the Middle East’s beauty.
“He conceived the story, which is set in the Gulf,” the source added. “It’s supposed to showcase the beauty of the region, a piece that’s culturally sensitive and embraces the customs and traditions of the region.”
The short film could also come packaged with Kanye’s next album, much like his last short film Runaway did in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy‘s special edition.
Kanye West making a short film in the Middle East? Sounds exciting.
