E News is reporting that Kanye West‘s new album will not be titled I Am God. So where did the I Am God title come from? BBC is a solid source but apparently they got things a little wrong.

G.O.O.D. Music‘s Malik Yusef was answering fans questions on Twitter and may have revealed where Kanye West‘s criticized title came from and according to him we and BBC got the title misconstrued. It’s really I Am (A) GodMalik revealed, letting Kanye fans know it’s inspired by Psalms 82 bible verses.

Psalms 82:6 – I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

So if Kanye West is going with an I Am A God title, but it’s not for an album…one can only assume it’s for his new single.

Later Malik stopped answering questions about I Am A God and said he’s going to save the announcing for Kanye himself.

Huffington Post also confirmed the “I Am A God” title is for a single, according to inside sources they talked to.

A reliable source in West’s camp tells HuffPost Entertainment that the title is actual [sic] for an upcoming single, and that the album’s name has yet to be set. The track will be called “I Am A God” (emphasis added).
