If there’s two things I’m a big fan of it’s Hip Hop and Movies. While browsing through one of my favorite sources of Movie news this morning, I stumbled onto an article that quickly grabbed my attention regarding a reboot of one of my favorite childhood films the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, where those two things I’m a fan of, Hip Hop and Movies meet.

Slashfilm is reporting that Kid Cudi may have been cast in Platinum Dunes reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series being directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay/Platinum Dunes.  The reboot which will be titled Ninja Turtles received some backlash recently from TMNT fans because the producer of the film, Michael Bay said the film’s Turtle characters would be Aliens instead of Mutants.

The speculation to Kid Cudi starring in the Ninja Turtles film stemmed from his very own social media accounts. Kid Cudi recently took to his Tumblr account to share a piece of Ninja Turtle art by Kevin Eastman given to him by Platinum Dunes staff, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, with the caption “An original one of a kind sketch of a unknown Ninja Turtle by one half of the creators, Kevin Eastman. A gift given to me by my homies Andrew Form and Brad Fuller over at Platinum Dunes. Hint hint mane.”

If that wasn’t enough to make you think Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi has been cast in the film, his next Tweet could sell you on the idea.

So will we see Kid Cudi in the Ninja Turtles film, or could he be lending his voice to the film’s CGI Turtles who will roam our non CGI New York City?  Only time will tell.  Hell, maybe he’ll just be providing the film with a 2013 spin on Vanilla Ice’s “Turtle Rap”.  Either way, I’m interested.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot Ninja Turtles will hit theaters on Christmas day in 2013.
