Meek Mill Arrested After Posting Instagram Video Riding His Dirt Bike In Manhattan

Hours after taping The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Meek Mill was arrested in New York City for reckless endangerment. The rapper was targeted by police after posting a video of himself riding a dirt bike through Manhattan on Instagram.

The stunt took place the Wednesday night prior and NYPD identified Meek Mill by using the video. Meek Mill’s lawyer labeled the arrest “obvious targeting” in a statement to USA Today and that’s just what it seems to be.

“It really stinks of obvious targeting an individual who is a celebrity and maybe who law enforcement don’t like, and it’s not what the system is supposed to be about,” he said. “If his name was John Smith, he wouldn’t have even been arrested,” the lawyer said. “You could go to 110th St. and Dyckman right now and you’ll see 10 kids popping wheelies on their bikes. Nobody gets arrested.”

Footage of Meek Mill‘s arrest has also surfaced. In the video Meek Mill says he just wants to be treated fairly and says he knows his rights.
