It’s been 20 years since the release of Nas‘ classic rap album Illmatic.

To celebrate, Nasty Nas will re-release the album this year with a special collectors edition of titled Illmatic XX. The re-release will feature all the original tracks completely remastered, along with a bonus disc of remixes, and hard to find unreleased tracks and demos.

“I didn’t think about it. I just did it. I believe everybody has good instincts. Now I’m a man from that past and I’m supremely grateful. There’s a Nigerian proverb ‘What is past is prologue’. I’m here today because of Illmatic.”

But the Illmatic XX fun doesn’t end there. Nas is taking himself on tour to celebrate and he will be performing the entire project from beginning to end at each show.
