Rapper/producer The Alchemist and Mobb Deep‘s Prodigy are getting set to release an instrumental mixtape that will only be available through Send A Package, a service that provides care packages to inmates in the New York state prison system.

“I hated rhyming over other people’s beats,” Prodigy said in a statement, reflecting on his own time spent in prison. “I think this is a good thing that Send A Package is doing.”

This isn’t the first time the duo has worked together. They linked up for various projects including Alchemist‘s 1st Infantry as well as Prodigy‘s H.N.I.C. and Return of the Mac. The two are also currently working on a separate project titled Albert Einstein which is unrelated to their Send A Package tape.

No official release date for the project has been announced but it is expected to drop sometime this summer. Send A Package recently signed a deal with Universal Records to release Hip Hop LPs in cassette tape form. Universal can release tape versions of albums by various artists including Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z.
