Yesterday on MTV’s RapFix Rick Ross said that his upcoming LP, God Forgives, I Don’t wasn’t gonna release in time. Now today it’s official that the album will not be coming on December 13th. But, you can look for it “the first or second quarter of 2012” according to Island Def Jam Senior VP of Marketing Chris Atlas.
“I think we’re all aware of his recent health issue, and based on some of the minor setbacks with that, we weren’t able to confirm certain opportunities, because he physically wasn’t able to deal with certain things at the time,” Atlas told Billboard.com. “We want this to be his biggest albums – we know it’s going to be his biggest album – so we did not want to pressure him into releasing an album based on the sake of a date.”
“If I wanted to, I’m pretty sure I could still meet that date, but I think for the people, it’s more important [to lay groundwork] for when I get out there and look them in the face and touch them hands,” he explained. “We’ve just gotta lay ground for it, and I’mma keep y’all updated.”
