Yep, Young Thug’s Album Is Still Titled Tha Carter 6

Amidst all of the Young Money vs. Cash Money drama, Young Thug is hard at work on his Tha Carter 6 album. The project follows up Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter 5, an album which still doesn’t even have a release date. Shoot, it may never come out.

Today Young Thug uploaded a teaser of a new track from Tha Carter 6 that has yet to be released. On the track, Young Thug can be heard referencing Lil Wayne‘s “Tunechi” moniker. Take a listen in the clip below.

The song we’re hearing is a remix of Lil Wayne‘s “Grindin that also features Drake and Young Jeezy.

Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter V doesn’t have a set release date, neither does Young Thug‘s Tha Carter 6, but with all the issues going on at Young Money and Cash Money, it wouldn’t surprise me if we heard Young Thug‘s project first. It would be like the ultimate “f*ck you” to Weezy if Birdman had part in the release, and it’s likely he will.

Lil Wayne has been working on a new album dubbed FWA, The Free Weezy Album.
